The Department of Social Welfare and Community Development in collaboration with the Bosome Freho District Assembly on 6th December 2023 made a presentation of start-up tools to physically challenged persons in the Bosome Freho District.
The Items was presented by the District Assembly through its share of the disability fund.
The items which include Deep freezers, Refrigerators, cocoa spraying machines, and provisions presented to the beneficiaries based on their needs assessment.
The presentation was made by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Kofi Adu Amoateng assisted by the District Co-ordinating Director Mr. Samuel Kyei-Baffour Frimpong on behalf of the Assembly and Department of Social Welfare and Community Development at a short but impressive ceremony at the forecourt of the Assembly premises.
The District Chief Executive, Hon. Kofi Adu Amoateng in a speech commended the government for living up to its pledges to Ghanaians including meeting the needs of the physically challenge in society.
He thanked the Social Welfare Department and Community Development for their support and urged them to continue the good work.
He said, the government is committed in making life comfortable for all Ghanaians, especially the less privileged in the society.
Hon. Kofi Adu Amoateng further stated that the presentation should be seen as a move against poverty as it would enable them engage in economic ventures to earn a living for themselves.
Hon. Kofi Adu Amoateng advised the recipients not to sell the items out but to put them to better use for the benefit of themselves, their families, and the entire community in which they find themselves.
