1.0 Background
The My First Day at School initiative is an annual programme aimed at welcoming pupils who are reporting to school for the first time. The 2025 edition was held on Tuesday 2nd September, 2025, across selected schools in the Bosome Freho District and was organized in two sections. The District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Charles Appiah-Kubi, led a team to carry out the exercise at the Nsuta and Sunsu Freho zones, while the District Education Director, Mr. Bruce Anning, led another team to the Bosomtwe East zone. This initiative formed part of a broader effort to promote education and encourage school enrolment within the district.
2.0 Objectives
The objectives of the programme were to:
- Welcome new pupils, particularly those entering Kindergarten (KG) and Primary One.
- Distribute basic study materials to motivate the pupils.
- Encourage parents and guardians to prioritize their children’s education.
- Instill in pupils the values of discipline, obedience, and hard work.

4.0 Remarks
In his address, the DCE encouraged the pupils to be obedient to their teachers, take their studies seriously, and work hard to achieve their future goals. He further emphasized the Assembly’s commitment to supporting education as a tool for personal and community development.
