The second edition of the National Sanitation Day (NSD) under the rotational arrangement was held at Anyanso on 6th September, 2025, from 6:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
The exercise focused on major streets, drains, the market area, communal refuse sites, and refuse dump sites. Key activities carried out included sweeping, desilting of drains, clearing of weeds, removal of illegal dumping sites, waste collection, and proper refuse disposal.
The aim was to fight filth, reduce the spread of sanitation-related diseases, beautify the town, and promote sustainable development.
Conclusion: Sanitation is crucial for national development and must be observed daily as a shared responsibility, not just as an occasional exercise.
