The Bosome Freho District Assembly successfully organized a clean-up exercise on 2nd August 2025 in the District capital, Asiwa, as part of the national sanitation day initiative.
The exercise, which began at 6:45 am and ended at 10:00 am, focused on cleaning major streets, drains, the District Assembly premises, and the Asiwa Health Centre.

- Sweeping and desilting of drains
- Clearing weeds and refuse
- Filling potholes

The event was attended by the District Chief Executive, traditional leaders, staff of the Assembly, unit committee members, the Queen mother, SHS cadet corps, and health professionals.
The District Director of Health and health workers sensitized participants on environmental health and hygiene.
Conclusion
The clean-up exercise enhanced environmental sanitation, improved public health, and fostered community participation. It also helped reduce the risk of preventable diseases such as malaria, cholera, and typhoid.
