The department of Social Welfare and Community Development in collaboration with the Bosome Freho District Assembly on 20th June, 2019 made a presentation of start-up tools to twenty one (21) physically challenge persons in the Bosome Freho District Assembly.

The Items worth GHC. 36,000.00 presented by the District Assembly through its share of the disability fund.

The items which include chest freezers, sewing machines, cocoa spraying machines, bags of rice, margarine, fufu pounding machine, cartons of milk, packs of madar omo, boxes of key soap, assorted drinks, flour and animals presented to the beneficiaries based on their needs assessment.

The presentation was made by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Yaw Danso assisted by the District Co-ordinating Director Mr. Ferka Charles on behalf of the Assembly and Department of Social Welfare and Community Development at a short but impressive ceremony at the forecourt of the Assembly premises.

The District Chief Executive, Mr Yaw Danso in a speech commended the government for living up to its pledges to Ghanaians including meeting the needs of the physically challenge in society.

He thanked the Social Welfare Department and Community Development for their support and urged them to continue the good work.

He said, the government is committed in making life comfortable for all Ghanaian especially the less privileged in the society.

Mr. Yaw Danso further stated that, the presentation should be seen as a move against poverty as it would enable them engage in economic ventures to earn a living for themselves.

He added that, one of the focus areas of government is to create employment, both in the formal and the informal sector of the economy.

Mr. Yaw Danso advised the recipients not to sell the items out but to put them to better use for the benefits of themselves, their families and the entire community in which they find themselves.
