On the 12th of September 2024, the Bosome Freho District Assembly held a significant sod-cutting ceremony at Nsuta to mark the commencement of the construction of a new police station.
The event was attended by various dignitaries, including the District Chief Executive, Hon. Kofi Adu-Amoateng, the District Coordinating Director, Samuel Kyei-Baffour Frimpong, the District Police Commander, Nananom (Traditional Leaders), and the Heads of Department.
Opening Remarks
Nana Kwabena Agyapong, Sanaahene of the Kokofu Tradition Council in his opening remarks expressed his appreciation for the government’s decision to enhance security infrastructure in the area. He emphasized the importance of peace and security in fostering community growth and economic development.
The District Police Commander expressed his excitement about the project, stating that the new police station would significantly enhance their ability to maintain law and order. He assured the community of the police’s commitment to protecting lives and property and encouraged active collaboration between law enforcement and the public.
The district Chief Executive in his keynote address highlighted the critical need for a police station in Nsuta to address the increasing demand for security. He emphasized that the project was part of the district’s broader effort to improve infrastructure and ensure the safety of residents. He handed over the site to the contractor after thanking the stakeholders for their support and encouraged the community to cooperate with the police.
Closing and Sod Cutting
The event concluded with a formal sod-cutting ceremony led by the DCE, joined by the Police Commander, Nananom, and the Heads of the Department. The community was assured that the construction of the police station would begin immediately and be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
The gathering ended with a vote of thanks from the information service officer, acknowledging all attendees for their participation and support. The police station, once completed, will enhance the district’s security framework, contributing to peace and development in Nsuta and beyond.
