BOSOME FREHO DCE HON. CHARLES APPIAH-KUBI WELCOMES PUPILS ON MY FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL TOUR

The District Chief Executive for Bosome Freho, Hon. Charles Appiah-Kubi has toured selected communities in the district to welcome fresh pupils as schools reopen for the new academic year.

The “My First Day at School” visitation took the DCE and officials from the District Assembly and the District Education Directorate to basic schools in Besease Semdadieso, Freboye, Anyanso, Anumso, Nkwantapon and other communities.

The tour is part of the Ghana Education Service’s annual programme to welcome KG1 and Basic 1 pupils into the formal school system and to boost enrollment and retention.

Speaking during the visits, Hon. Appiah-Kubi congratulated the beginners and urged them to be obedient, punctual, and serious with their studies. He assured parents that the assembly remains committed to improving learning conditions across the district.

He noted that the Assembly has in recent months invested heavily in education infrastructure, including the commissioning of a modern 2-unit kindergarten block at Mafi D/A Basic School, classroom blocks at Tebeso II, Damascus and Fereso, and teachers’ bungalows to address accommodation challenges for teachers posted to deprived areas.

“Water is life, and education is the future. As an assembly, we can not achieve our development goals if our children do not have a conducive place to learn,” the DCE has previously stated during similar commissioning ceremonies.

As part of the visitation, the DCE distributed learning materials, including exercise books, pencils, pen, biscuits, and assorted drinks to the new entrants to make them feel at home.

District Education Director Mr. Bruce Enin who accompanied the DCE, commended the assembly for its continuous support to the education sector and appealed to parents to ensure their wards of school-going age are enrolled and stay in school.

Some parents and School Management Committee members in the beneficiary communities expressed gratitude to the DCE and the Assembly for the gesture, describing it as motivating for both pupils and teachers.
