The Bosome Freho District joins the rest of the country to celebrate the 38th edition of the National Farmers Day celebration on Friday 2nd December 2022. The district edition was held at Nsutem on the same day. In all, ten (10) farmers were given categories of awards based on their qualifications for the criteria set by the planning committee. The Best Farmer award was given to Nana Kwaku Benefo from Nsutem.
Among the items presented to the district’s best farmer was Double decker Fridge, pair of wellington boots, cutlasses, knapsack spraying machines, a Rosette, APEX 10 fertilizer, AF Liquid fertilizer, AF Insecticide, Sun-landa insecticide, and a certificate. The District Coordinating Director, Samuel Kyei-Baffour Frimpong did the presentation.
Items such as pair of wellington boots, cutlasses, knapsack spraying machines, APEX 10 fertilizers, AF Liquid fertilizers, AF Insecticide, Sun-landa Insecticide, and a certificate were also presented to other awardees by the District Director of Agric, Mr. Evan Antwi.
The District Coordinating Director, Samuel Kyei-Baffour Frimpong in his speech congratulated the farmers for their effort made to sustain human lives and the economy during these hard times. He encouraged them to seek advice from the Agric Extension Officers posted at the various electoral areas for modernized agriculture practices as the celebration theme “Accelerating Agricultural Development through Value Addition” depicts.
The celebration which peacefully attracted a large crowd including traditional rulers, heads of departments, security personnel Assembly Members, Farmers, media, and the general public was chaired by Nana Twum Barimah II Dadease hene from Dadease Traditional council.
