As part of management’s effort to increase cocoa yield in the district, the District Assembly in collaboration with the Cocoa Health and Extension Division (CHED) launched the distribution of One Hundred Thousand cocoa seedlings to One Hundred cocoa farmers in the district.
The Hon. District Chief Executive for Bosome Freho District, in his address, remarked that cocoa farming was said to be the future of the family and so there is the need to increase its yield to boost the growth of the economy which the family will derive a direct benefit from it. He advised the farmers to desist from selling or giving out their land for ‘’galamsey’’ activities which have destroyed a lot of cocoa farmlands in the communities.
The Hon. DCE thanked the Management of CHED and the farmers for being present and reiterated that the Government is ever ready to support the farmers to increase their cocoa yields for the benefit of both the economy and their families.
