SOD CUTTING CEREMONY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF 1 No. CHPs COMPOUND HELD ON WEDNESDAY 20TH MAY, 2020 AT DANNSO

INTRODUCTION

The Bosome Freho District Assembly, as part of efforts to support quality Health care delivery in the District, approved an award for the construction of 1 No. CHPs Compound at Dannso electoral area. The project when completed, would be among twenty-seven (27) CHPs operating under the Health Directorate, District wide. The project which worth billions of Ghana Cedis was funded by the Assembly’s share of the Common Fund.

PRE- SOD CUTTING CEREMONY

Among the dignitaries who made it to the project site to witness the proceedings were the District Chief Executive, the District Co-ordinating Director, District Works Engineer, District Health Director, section of Assembly and Health Staff as well the contractor for the project.

The delegates first paid a courtesy call on Nananom at Dannso community as custom demands. In the course of the courtesies, the DCE and the District Health Director took turn to address Nananom as well as the gathering on the purpose for which the facility was recommended to be built in the community. The need for effective collaboration, cooperate responsibilities towards successful completion of the project as well as adherence to the safety protocols on the covid-19 pandemic regarding frequent hand-washing, sanitizing and wearing of face mask among other, were extensively addressed.

The contractor, Mr. Kwadwo Kwarteng of Agonaman Construction International, was officially introduced to Nananom as the one whom the construction of the CHPs was entrusted to.

THE SOD CUTTING

The District Chief Executive with the assistance from Nana Opoku Kyei Ababio, Dannso Omanhene, performed the sod cutting ceremony to symbolized the commencement of the project. Hon.Yaw  Danso however, urged all stakeholders to play their role as expected, to ensure that the contractor complete the project on time and with the expected quality work done.

The District Works Engineer as part of requirements, handed over the signed building document including the specimen of the building plan to the contractor to confirm the official handing over of site.

CONCLUSION

Nana Opoku Kyei Ababio, on behalf of Danso Community, thanked His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, the DCE, the Health Directorate and the District Assembly as a whole on the honor done them. He pledged the community’s unflinching support and co-ordination towards the successful completion of the project to the benefit of the entire District.

The ceremony ended at 10:30am.
