Commissioning of Amomorso CHPS Compound

Introduction

The commissioning ceremony of the renovated Amomorso CHPS compound was held on November 22, 2024, at Amomorso symbolizing a significant advancement in healthcare service delivery for the Amomorso community.

This momentous occasion was graced by distinguished guests, including Mrs. Francisca Ahiavi (District Health Director, Bosome Freho), the Northern Zonal head of Access Bank; Mr. Pascals Akanlu, Joseph Boamah Antwi (Project manager), facility nurses; traditional leaders (Nananom), staff from Access Bank, local communities, and other stakeholders.

The renovation and subsequent commissioning of the Chps compound were the results of a collaborative effort between Access Bank and the Bosome Freho Health Directorate, showcasing a shared commitment to enhancing healthcare accessibility and quality in the district.

Background: Adoption of Amomorso Community by Access Bank

As part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives, Access Bank adopted the Amomorso community for three years. During this time, several developmental projects were implemented, including:

  • Construction of a borehole to ensure a clean and reliable water supply.
  • Provision of hospital beds to improve the capacity of local health facilities.

Toward the end of this adoption period, the need to renovate the Amomorso CHPS compound became apparent. Recognizing the critical role of the compound in healthcare delivery, Access Bank partnered with the Bosome Freho Health Directorate to restore the facility. The renovation transformed the CHPS compound into a fully functional, patient-friendly space capable of meeting the community’s healthcare needs.
