The District Road Improvement Program (DRIP) was officially launched on September 18, 2024, at the forecourt of the Bosome Freho District Assembly. The initiative, aimed at improving the district’s road infrastructure, is set to enhance accessibility, economic growth, and connectivity within the district.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Kofi Adu-Amoateng, the Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Asfo Adjei Ayeh, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairperson, Mr. Kwaku Frimpong, and Nananom of Bosome Freho District.
In his address, Hon. Kofi Adu-Amaoteng expressed his appreciation for the launch of DRIP, stating that the initiative would address long-standing challenges related to poor road conditions in the district. He highlighted the government’s commitment to rural infrastructure development, emphasizing how better roads would facilitate trade, improve transportation, and contribute to the overall welfare of the community.
Nana Asfo Adjei, the Parliamentary Candidate for the New Patriotic Party, emphasized the importance of road improvement in the district, noting that poor roads have been a major obstacle to development in the district. He reiterated his focus on making road infrastructure a priority and appealed to the Nananom (traditional leaders) and the entire community to support the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and vote massively for the party in the upcoming December elections. He promised that, if elected, his office would continue prioritizing the development of the road network in the years ahead, ensuring that the community’s long-standing problem is finally resolved.
Mr. Kwaku Frimpong, the NPP chairperson, commended the government’s ongoing development projects and called on the community to support the initiative. He emphasized that DRIP was not only a step toward better transportation but also a way to foster social and economic growth in Bosome Freho.
The Chairman of the occasion, Nana Akwatia Obofourdom of Kokofu Omanso hene, expressed his gratitude to the government for prioritizing road infrastructure development. He pointed out the direct impact better roads would have on the everyday lives of the residents, particularly in reducing travel time and improving access to healthcare, education, and markets.
The event concluded with the dignitaries cutting a ceremonial tape, symbolizing the official launch of the District Road Improvement Program (DRIP).
